Legendary Musician David Bowie Passed Away at 69 From Cancer

Fans were shocked and saddened when it was announced that David Bowie had lost his secret battle with liver cancer at the golden age of 69. He was an incredibly influential singer-songwriter and producer during his 40+ year career and excelled at rock, dance, pop, soul, punk, and electronica music. The day before his 69th birthday, Bowie released a new music video for the song “Lazarus” that appeared on his new album “Blackstar” which came out on Jan. 8th, 2016. Sadly, he leaves behind his wife since 1992, Iman, his son, Duncan Jones, and his daughter, Alexandria.

Bowie’s music is iconic and his spirit will live on forever through it. Some of the most essential tracks are “Space Oddity”, “The Man Who Sold The World”, “Life on Mars?”, “Changes”, “Ziggy Stardust”, “The Jean Genie”, “Fame”, “Heroes”, “Modern Love”, “The Next Day”, and his final hit “Lazarus”. Even the music videos for these songs are a spectacle on their own. He was truly original, incredibly talented, and had a huge impact on gender and sexuality! LGBT groups announced their sadness and appreciation for Bowie Monday morning and his influences will never be forgotten.
